TEA MARKET REPORT – Sale 24 Held on Monday 21st October, 2024

CTC LEAF: 57,082 packages of  tea on offer met with a fairly strong demand.

BROKENS: Good liquoring types were a strong market and were often dearer. Medium varieties met with a good demand and sold at steady to dearer rates. Plainer sorts met with a little improved demand whilst BLF teas continued to fetch selective demand with heavy withdrawals.

FANNINGS: Good liquoring Fannings continued to meet with a strong demand and mostly tended dearer. Medium varieties followed a similar trend and were often dearer. Plainer types met with more demand and were slightly dearer. BLF teas continued to fetch selective demand with heavy withdrawals.

DUST: 11,816 packages of tea on offer met with an improved demand. Good liquoring Dusts sold well at around last levels. Their Mediums were fully firm to dearer by Tk.5/- to Tk.7/- in line with quality. Plain and BLF Dusts were also a good market but saw several withdrawals. Blenders lent strong support with fair interest from the Loose tea buyers.

COMMENTS: An overall improvement in demand was witnessed in this week’s market. BLF teas however, continued to remain difficult of sale and withdrawals were heavy in this category. Blenders operated in good strength along with Loose tea buyers providing good support.

Dusts were a dearer market.
