TEA MARKET REPORT – Sale 34 Held on Monday 30th December, 2024

CTC LEAF: 60,277 packages of tea on offer once again met with a fair demand.

BROKENS: Good liquoring Brokens met with a fairly good demand and were generally firm to slightly easier in line with quality. Medium and plainer varieties met with only a fair demand and were an easier market with more withdrawals. BLF teas met with a little less demand at around last levels with more withdrawals.

FANNINGS: Good liquoring Fannings met with a fairly good market demand and were firm to slightly easier in line with quality. Medium and plainer varieties met with a little less demand and were easier in line with quality. BLF teas met with a little less demand at around last levels with more withdrawals.

DUST: 12,638 packages of tea on offer met with a fair demand with some withdrawals. Good liquoring Dusts sold well at easier rates. Mediums met with fair  demand and sold at a drop of Tk.5/- to Tk.10/- closely following quality. Plain/BLF Dusts were an easier market with more withdrawals than last. Blenders lent good support whilst Loose tea buyers were selective.

COMMENTS: Offerings continued to show a further decline in quality. Blenders once again lent fairly good support particularly for the few good liquoring varieties on offer. Loose tea buyers were virtually absent. As a result, withdrawals were higher this week.

Dusts were an easier market with more withdrawals than last.
