TEA MARKET REPORT – Sale 15 Held on Monday 19th August, 2024

CTC LEAF: 45,763 packages of  tea on  offer again met with a fairly good demand.

BROKENS: Well made good liquoring Brokens were   a good  market and mostly sold at around last levels. Medium varieties were again a fairly good market and sold at firm to slightly easier rates in line with quality. Plain types met with only a fair demand at easier rates with fair withdrawals. BLF teas were again a selective market with heavy withdrawals.

FANNINGS: Well made good liquoring Fannings met with a fairly good demand and were about steady. Medium types were a little easier. Plain types met with only a fair demand at easier rates with fair withdrawals. BLF teas were again a selective market with heavy withdrawals.

DUST: 11,072 packages of teas on offer met with a good demand. Well made good liquoring Dusts were quite a good market but were slightly easier. Medium Dusts met with good demand and were about steady in line with quality. Plain/BLF Dusts met with less demand with quite heavy withdrawals. Blenders lent strong support with fair interest from the Loose tea buyers.

COMMENTS: Good varieties continued to meet with good support from all sections of the market resulting in firm prices for these varieties. Blenders continued to be quite active with a little more support from the Loose tea buyers.

Dusts sold well.
