CTC LEAF:  53,064 packages of tea on offer met with an improved demand.

BROKENS: Well made good liquoring Brokens met with a strong demand and were a dearer market following competition. Medium varieties met with a fairly good demand and were generally firm. Plainer varieties met with a fair demand at around last levels with some withdrawals. BLF teas met with less demand at easier rates with more withdrawals.

FANNINGS: Good liquoring Fannings met with a  strong market and were generally dearer following quality. Medium varieties were a fairly good market and were generally firm. Plainer varieties met with a fair demand at around last levels. There were a few withdrawals in this category. BLF teas met with less demand at easier rates with more withdrawals.

DUST: 10,537 packages of tea on offer met with a good demand. Good liquoring Dusts sold well at around last levels. Mediums met with a better demand and were fully firm to slightly dearer closely following quality. Plain and BLF Dusts were an easier market and witnessed more withdrawals. Blenders lent good support with fair interest from the Loose tea buyers.

COMMENTS: This week demand emanated from all sections of the market resulting in more competition particularly for the better liquoring varieties. Blenders were more active with improved support from the Loose tea buyers. Reprinted teas, however, continued to meet with heavy withdrawals.

Dusts were a slightly dearer market.
