AUCTION TIMING

CTC LEAF:  48,483 packages of tea on offer met with a fairly strong  demand.

BROKENS: Well made good liquoring small Brokens were again a strong market and were mostly firm. Their corresponding larger varieties met with a fairly good demand but were slightly easier with some withdrawals. Medium varieties were a fairly good market and sold at around last levels easing slightly in line with quality. Plainer varieties met with a little less demand and were slightly easier with some withdrawals. BLFs teas met with  a good demand at around last levels.

FANNINGS: Well made good liquoring Fannings were again a strong feature of the sale and prices were mostly firm to occasionally easier in line with quality. Medium and Plainer varieties  met with a fairly good demand but were easier with a little more withdrawals. BLFs teas met with a good demand at around last levels.

DUST: 11,387 packages of  tea on offer met with quite a good demand. Good liquoring Dusts sold well at around last levels. Their Mediums were little easier by Tk.3/- to Tk.5/- closely following quality. Plain/BLF Dusts met with less demand with a little more withdrawals than last. Blenders lent good support with fair interest from the Loose tea buyers.

COMMENTS: Good liquoring varieties continued to witness a strong demand with Blenders once again being the mainstay of the market. Loose tea buyers lent fair support.

In the second half of the sale market witnessed little less competition with slightly more withdrawals.

Dusts were slightly easier market.
